The most tempting festival in Italy

Eurochocolate celebrates its 26th edition this year, confirming the leader role of Perugia as the Chocolate City. The largest European chocolate festival has been held in the historic centre of Perugia since 1994, when it was born thanks a brilliant intuition by the architect Eugenio Guarducci.

Year after year, edition after edition, the event has acquired more and more followers, with enthusiasts coming from all over Italy and abroad, until becoming a cult autumn event in Umbria nowadays.

The claim of 2019 Eurochocolate - Attacca bottone - confirms the desire to reaffirm the strong relationship with Perugia. The objective of this edition is to privilege a continuous dialogue with the activities and the inhabitants of the city, "chatting up" (that is the Italian expression “attaccare bottone”) with the community and especially with children. The little ones are the addressees of a sweet Letter of the Button, true manifesto of the event.

The Eurochocolate is completely free and, for 10 days, turns Perugia into a huge open-air chocolate shop: a gluttonous opportunity to enjoy with your partner or family ... don't you think?

A program all to taste

The most famous chocolate festival in Europe invests the entire city centre, with colours and scents that warm the heart. From Corso Vannucci to Piazza IV Novembre and Piazza Italia, from Via Baglioni to the Rocca Paolina: all Perugia becomes the seat of the Eurochocolate. You just have to reach the city and stroll through its narrow streets, the hints of chocolate will guide you to shops and stands full of delicacies.

Many events in the program, from chocolate shows to masterclasses held by real authorities in the sector, even more interesting when you crunch the chocolate chips given to the participants, a must-have snack for the most tempting festival. Despite the free admission, some activities such as guided tastings require a reservation because are held in limited spaces, so take a look at the program and ensure a front row seat!

Remember to admire carefully "Eurochocolate is like a box of chocolates ... 25 chocolates for 25 editions", an imposing 5-meter box with 25 delicious maxi chocolates, a forbidden dream of every gourmand. A photographic exhibition with pictures by Simone Casetta traces the history of the festival and is certainly worth a visit.

Before leaving, don't forget some delicious snacks for the trip: the Chocostore is open every day from 9.00 to 20.00 in Piazza IV Novembre.
